Mac OS X to the Max: Finding and Installing More Widgets

As the Dashboard becomes widely used, you can expect that lots of people and companies will get into the widget production game. You have to install new widgets on your Dashboard to be able to use them.

Finding and Downloading Cool Widgets

The Dashboard can be expanded with new widgets that you download from the Internet.

1.	Activate the Dashboard and open the Widget Bar.
2.	Click the More Widgets button. Your default web browser will open and take you to the widgets web page.
3.	Browse or search until you find a widget you want to try.
4.	Download the widget.

Installing Widgets Not Included with Mac OS X

There are two ways widgets can be installed. One is to use an installer if one was provided with the widget. Otherwise, just place the widget file in the Widgets folder that is in the Library folder on your startup disk; restart your Mac and then use the Widget Bar to open and use the new widget.
