VPN 3002 HARDWARE CLIENT

  1. The hardware client comes in a single-port private interface model, as well as an 8-port switch private interface model.

  2. The hardware client comes preconfigured with an IP address of 192.168.10.1 on its private Ethernet interface.

  3. Client mode operation entails the Hardware Client utilizing PAT to hide its private IP addresses by translating them into its assigned internal IP address for tunneled traffic.

  4. Network Extension operating mode is a site-to-site connection that does not utilize PAT for tunnel traffic. The central network has full visibility to the IP addresses assigned to users on the hardware client's private network.

  5. Know the steps required to initialize the VPN 3002 Hardware Client with Quick Configuration.

  6. Interactive and individual authentication features are enabled on the central concentrator and pushed to the Hardware Client.

  7. Interactive authentication protects the central site by requiring that a user provide the client's credentials for tunnel establishment. Interactive authentication requires each individual user authenticate to the central concentrator before permitting the user across the tunnel.

  8. The VPN Hardware Client, as well as the Cisco Unity Software Client, support up to ten backup VPN Concentrators. This list can be configured on the clients themselves or overridden by the concentrator's pushed policy.
