Biography


Named one the 10 Most Influential People in CRM by Sales and Marketing Automation magazine, Richard Brock founded and serves as Chairman and CEO of Firstwave Technologies, Inc. Firstwave, a pioneer in the Sales Force Automation market and a leading provider of web-based Internet Relationship Management applications, was started by Mr. Brock in 1984 to address the needs of companies seeking a complete solution to automate their sales, marketing and customer service. His entrepreneurial spirit has resulted in Firstwave establishing an international presence and serving over 200 companies in 20 countries.

Mr. Brock has also played a significant role in the development and management of several companies. He founded Brock Capital Partners, a capital investment firm, and is a director of Datastream Systems, Inc., a leading provider of maintenance software. Prior to his originating Firstwave, Mr. Brock founded and served as CEO of Management Control Systems, a software provider for CPA firms that is now a division of Research Institute of America. In addition, he has held board positions with three other companies.

Formerly the Chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia, Mr. Brock has assumed numerous industry leadership positions and has received many accolades through his entrepreneurial career. He has served as President and Board Member of the Business & Technology Alliance, President of the Entrepreneur's Division and Board Member of the Information Technology Association of America, President and Board Member of the Southeast Software Association, Chairman of Georgia High Technology Month and Board Member of the Technology Executives Roundtable. He was named Georgia's High Technology Entrepreneur of the Year in 1990.

A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Brock received his MBA from Louisiana State University and his BS from Spring Hill College.
