Interacting With Other Groups


My belief is that you often learn a lot just by being around the water cooler, listening to problems other people have or hearing about innovations they've done that no one else has thought of. Part of what you want to do is connect the right people who are doing similar things. The role of a management team is to foster innovation by connecting people. It's my belief that, in the end, organizations don't do anything - people do. So if you get the right people, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Our sales organization has early insights into what prospects are looking for because everyone who goes out to buy a product has visions of what they're trying to solve. You'll get a different set of insights from your customers because they're not really focused on the future, but on taking what they have and getting it to work really well.
