Printing Quickly and Efficiently

3 4

After you've approved your document's appearance using Print Preview mode, you're ready to print. By far the easiest and most common printing task is printing an entire document. You've probably done this a million times, but to make sure we don't overlook any obvious procedures, here's a quick rundown of the ways you can print a single copy of the current document:

  • Choose File, Print, and then click OK.
  • Click Print on the Standard toolbar.
  • Press Ctrl+P or Ctrl+Shift+F12, and then click OK.

You can also print a Word document without opening it by right-clicking the file's icon and choosing Print on the shortcut menu. To print multiple documents stored in the same folder at one time, follow these steps:

  1. Choose File, Open.
  2. In the Open dialog box, open the folder that contains the documents you want to print, and then select the documents.
  3. In the Open dialog box, click the Tools down arrow, and then choose Print on the drop-down menu.

Note

To print from Word, you must have a printer and printer driver installed. If you're in charge of configuring your own printer, remember to check your printer manufacturer's Web page for any updated drivers that you should download if you run into any Word 2002 compatibility issues.
