When you're ready to print your master document, begin by opening the master document and expanding the document display to the level you want to print. First click Expand Subdocuments on the Outlining toolbar to show the headings of all subdocuments; then use the Expand buttons to expand the text level as desired. Finally, change to Print Layout view by choosing View, Print Layout, or clicking the Print Layout View button to the left of the horizontal scroll bar.
Choose File, Print, select any necessary print options, and click Print. The entire master document, including the subdocument text, is printed.

Click Close to return to the Print Layout view and make any necessary changes before printing.
Master Document Is Incomplete When Printed
If, when you print your master document, you find that there are some sections missing, return to Outline view and scroll through the document to make sure all sections have been expanded. Anything left collapsed will not be printed, so make sure that you expand the entire document, if that's your intention, before selecting Print.
