The easiest way to add a nothing-fancy border to an item in your document is to select it and then click the Tables And Borders button on the Standard toolbar. This displays the Tables And Borders toolbar, as Figure 24-1 shows.

To add a quick border, click the Borders down arrow. A list of border choices appears. Table 24-1 describes the different choices available to you. To create a simple border that outlines your selection, click Outside Border.

| Inside Horizontal Border | Inserts a horizontal line through the center of the selected text |
| Horizontal Line | Adds a horizontal line through the cell at the cursor position |
| Inside Vertical Border | Adds a vertical line through the center of the selected text |
| Descending Diagonal Border | Draws a diagonal border down through the created table or text area |
| Ascending Diagonal Border | Draws a diagonal line up through the selected table or text area |
