Running Macros

 < Day Day Up >

After you create a macro, you can run it using any of the following techniques:

  • Click the macro's toolbar button or menu command.

  • Press the macro's keyboard shortcut.

  • Open the Macros dialog box (by pressing Alt+F8), select the macro in the Macro Name list, and click Run.

Users typically access macros by clicking toolbar buttons, choosing menu commands, or pressing keyboard shortcuts. But in some cases, you might want to store an infrequently used macro in your document or template without making the macro instantly accessible-in other words, you might want a macro to be available when you need it, but you don't need to use it every time you work in Word. In those cases, you should simply create and store your macro in your document or template and then run the macro from within the Macros dialog box whenever you need to complete the desired procedure.
