Using the MIN Function


The MIN function returns the minimum value in a range of cells. For example, if you had three cells with the values 2, 3, and 4, the MIN function will enter the number 2the minimum value in the three cells.

To use the MIN function, follow these steps:

1.

Select the cell where you want the result to appear.

2.

Click the Min link; this inserts =Min( into the selected cell.

3.

Use your keyboard or mouse to select the range of cells.

4.

Use your keyboard to enter the ) character to close the function argument.

5.

Press the Enter key.

Google Spreadsheets now examines the selected cells and notes the one with the lowest value; it places that lowest value into the current cell.
