Some Final Notes

You now know enough about Thunderbird to start using it as your primary email program, but you have barely scratched the surface of what you can do with it. Click around those menus at the top of the windowespecially Options under the Tools menuand you'll discover many other ways you can customize Thunderbird's settings to suit your tastes.

Go to the www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/ Web page. You'll find all kinds of downloadable themes and extensions, tips and tricks, and useful advice about how to use, customize, and improve Thunderbird.

You may want to check that Thunderbird page every few months, not just once. New features and tools are always in development, and there are places where you can suggest ones you'd like, too.

And this bears repeating: Feel free to experiment with both Firefox and Thunderbird. Try different settings. These are rugged programs. You won't break them by messing around, and you can undo any changes you make as easily as you made the change in the first place, so there is no reason not to play with different settings, themes, and extensions whenever you're sitting in front of your computer and have a few moments to spare.
