When you add sound to a text-based conversation you get an Internet phone call. When you add live video to a conversation, you get a video conference. Put another way, a video conference is a normal Messenger conversation with video added. To add video to an existing conversation, click the Start Camera link. This displays a monitor window, where the other user's picture appears. Your picture appears in a similar window in the other user's Conversation window. (Figure 10.6 shows a video conference in progress.) If you want to see your picture, too, click the Options link and check the Show My Video as Picture-in-Picture option. Figure 10.6. You and another user can conduct a video conference from within Windows Messenger. |
