Chapter 29. Creating Your Own Web Page

In this chapter

  • Building a Web Page at a Home Page Community

  • Using Page-Building Software

  • Uploading Your Pages

It seems like everybody and their brother has their own personal Web pages these days. If you want to keep up with the Joneses (and the Smiths and the Berkowitzes), you need to create a personal Web page of your own.

All Web pages are based on a special programming code, called Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). Fortunately, you don't need to learn HTML to create a simple Web page. That's because there are a number of software programs and Web sites that make it easy to generate good-looking pages without you having to learn any fancy programming.
