Applying Slide Transitions

If you're presenting your slide show electronically, via a computer attached to a large monitor or projector, then there's one more thing you need to do add transitions between each slide. PowerPoint lets you use a wide variety of slide transitions, all of which are more interesting than just cutting from one slide to the next.

To apply slide transitions, follow these steps:

1. Click the Slide Sorter View button to switch to Slide Sorter view.
   
   

2. Select Slide Show, Slide Transition to display the Slide Transition pane.
   
   

3. Select the slides to which you want to add transitions.
   
   

4. Select the transition you want to use.
   
   

5. Modify the Speed and Sound of the transition, if desired.
   
   

tip

You don't have to use the same transitions on every slide. Your presentation will have more visual interest if you use a variety of transitions throughout.

Repeat these steps to add transitions to additional slides.
