To create a desktop shortcut to a specific Outlook pane

  1. Right-click the Outlook program file (usually in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office2003), and click Create Shortcut.

  2. Right-click the shortcut, and click Properties on the shortcut menu.

  3. In the Target box, type a space after the end of the path, type /select outlook:, type another space, and then type the name of a pane to which the shortcut will be directed.

  1. On the Advanced toolbar, click the Outlook Today icon.

  2. Click Customize Outlook Today.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

  2. Drag the command off of the toolbar or menu.

  1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File.

  2. Select Office Outlook Personal Folders File, and click OK.

  3. Type a file name, and click OK.

  4. Type a name for the folder, and click OK.

To create a Personal Address Book

  1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.

  2. Select the Add a new directory or address book option, and click Next.

  3. Select the Additional Address Books option, and click Next.

  4. In the Additional Address Book Types list, click Personal Address Book, and then click Next.

  5. Type the address or browse to the location where you want to add the new address book, and click the Open button.

To create a personal distribution list

  1. On the Tools menu, click Address Book.

  2. Click the down arrow to the right of the Show Names from the box, and click

  3. Personal Address Book.

  4. On the toolbar, click the New Entry button.

  5. In the Put this entry area, click the down arrow to the right of the In the box,

  6. and then click Personal Address Book.

  7. In the Select the entry type list, click Personal Distribution List, and then click OK.

  8. Type a name for the new distribution list, and click the Add/Remove Members button.

  9. In the Show Names from the list, click Personal Address Book.

  10. Hold down the Ctrl key, click the names of the contacts you want to add to the list, and then click the Members button.
