ActiveX documents are forms that can appear within ActiveX document containers such as the Office Binder and Internet Explorer. ActiveX documents are designed the same way you design Visual Basic forms. They can contain insertable objects, such as Microsoft Excel pivot tables. They can also show message boxes and secondary forms. This lesson describes ActiveX documents and lists features that allow you to integrate components that allow users to navigate transparently between HTML documents and ActiveX documents.
After this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Explain how a traditional document differs from an ActiveX document.
  • Describe the features of ActiveX documents.
Estimated lesson time 15 minutes
