When converting the call statement of Oracle function dbms_out.put.put_line(), MTK provides only a function skeleton for you. You still need to implement the function, which will best suit your application needs.
We offer you a user-defined function (UDF) solution called PUT_LINE() that will enable file output from pure SQL, such as an SQL stored procedure. You can use it as a tool for debugging stored procedures, but it also allows you to write to a specified file for other purposes as well.
You can find the sources of the function and a installation guide as additional material on the IBM Redbooks Internet site. See details on Appendix G, "Additional material" on page 415.
