Then it examines the benefits realized from implementing data warehouses or data marts. Finally, it introduces the features of SQL Server 7.0 that support data warehousing. Most of the topics introduced in this chapter are covered in greater detail later in this book. This chapter lays the conceptual groundwork for the practical applications in later modules.
