The following sections describe the IBM IMS TM management tools.

IBM IMS Command Control Facility for z/OS, V1

The IBM IMS Command Control Facility for z/OS:

  • Issues commands for DBCTL, DCCTL, or DB/DC regions.

  • Issues IMS commands from a batch utility or from a TSO session from an ISPF interface by an ISPF interface.

  • Ensures successful processing of database START, STOP, DBR, and DBD commands.

  • Processes IMS commands across all regions in a sysplex using the batch command processor.

  • Synchronizes online change and database commands across all regions in a sysplex using the batch command processor.

IBM IMS Extended Terminal Option Support for z/OS, V2.2

The IBM IMS Extended Terminal Option Support for z/OS tool:

  • Provides a frontend to the IMS Extended Terminal Option (ETO) feature.

  • Offers capabilities to help manage, implement, customize, and exploit the benefits of ETO in your systems environment to manage resources effectively.

  • Supports tailoring of all parts of ETO, including sign-on processing.

  • Lets you set global options for the entire user community and override options for specific terminals or user IDs.

  • Allows LTERM names that start with a numeric value.

  • Supports multiple versions of IMS.

  • Extends shared-queues support to issue SYSTEMS level ENQ for all LTERM names that are associated with a user at sign-on.

  • Offers SLU type P support and SLU 1 console support that allow you to supply a variety of options on an LU-by-LU basis (for example, Logmode, Logon Description, ASOT, ALOT).

IBM IMS High Performance System Generation (SYSGEN) Tools for z/OS, V1

The IBM IMS High Performance System Generation (SYSGEN) Tools for z/OS:

  • Includes Fast System Generation (SYSGEN), Merge Clone, and System Generation (SYSGEN) Compare.

  • Performs IMS SYSGENs for application resource changes (transactions, programs, databases, and route codes) in a single-step batch job or online.

  • Reduces the time needed to perform IMS SYSGENs for application resource changes (transactions, programs, databases, and route codes) and consumes far less CPU time.

  • Creates and maintains IMSplex SYSGEN configurations.

IMS Multi-Dialog Manager for z/OS, V1

The IMS Multi-Dialog Manager for z/OS:

  • Enables your IMS users to more quickly change between IMS sessions.

  • Improves the usability of your IMS online system and the productivity of your users.

  • Complements the existing IMS support for conversational transactions by managing the process of holding and resuming conversations for the end user.

IBM IMS Queue Control Facility for z/OS, V2

The IBM IMS Queue Control Facility (QCF) for z/OS:

  • Manages IMS message queues in both shared and non-shared queue environments.

  • Allows greater flexibility in configuration, and additional support of sysplex environments.

  • Implements improved security using the SAF/RACF security interface, which is accepted as a standard for security authorization.

  • Uses information maintained by the IMS Database Recovery Control (DBRC) facility that automates several functions that were previously performed manually in the areas of Automatic Checkpoint Location, Automatic Log Selection, and Cold Queue Recovery for IMS/SMQ.

  • Provides support for the INCLUDE and EXCLUDE statements of the LOAD function.

  • Allows message re-queueing between different LTERMs.

  • Accepts multiple-line commands in the Display Destination panels.

  • Conforms to user installation standards for execution libraries.

  • Provides improved product customization and documentation.

IBM IMS Workload Router for z/OS, V2.4

The IBM IMS Workload Router for z/OS tool:

  • Works with IMS TM to provide transparent routing or balancing of a transaction workload among two or more IBM systems.

  • Uses IMS Multiple Systems Coupling (MSC).

  • Is adaptable to a variety of system configurations.
