About the Authors

Jeffrey P. McManus is a developer and speaker specializing in Microsoft tools. As a developer, he has specialized in online application development involving Internet and client-server technologies. He is the author of four books on database and component technologies, including the best-selling previous edition of this book, and two books on .NET technologies. Jeffrey has been a regular speaker at VBITS/VSLive, European DevWeek, and VBConnections Conferences.

Jackie Goldstein is the principal of Renaissance Computer Systems, a company specializing in development and consulting with Microsoft tools and technologies. He has almost 20 years' experience developing and managing software applications in the United States and Israel, and is experienced at helping companies evaluate and integrate new technologies. Jackie is the MSDN Regional Director for Israel, the founder of the Israel VB User Group, and a featured speaker at international developer events including VSLive, TechEd, VBITS, Microsoft Developer Days, and SQL2TheMax. He has also been chosen to work with Microsoft as a Subject Matter Expert to help review, enhance, and finalize the technical content and presentations for worldwide Microsoft Developer Days events. Jackie has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and separate Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Management.
