Terms to Avoid

There are also some terms that you should never employ in your user interfaces. While terms such as "execute," "kill," "terminate," "fatal," and "abort" are perfectly acceptable in programmer's documentation, they are extremely violent terms in all other contexts. When in doubt, check the term in the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications or the Microsoft Press Computer Dictionary.
