Chapter 30 -- Check Your Error Messages

Chapter 30

Errors happen. In an ideal world, your program would work perfectly and your users would never make mistakes. In the real world, neither istrue and error messages play an important role in handling what goes wrong. While programmers don't want to give error messages (and we need to make sure we don't give unnecessary error messages) and users certainly don't want to receive them, an error message had better be helpful when you've decided that the error message is necessary. The helpfulness of an error message is an important part of a program's user interface.
