Crystal Reports documentation for Visual Studio .NET is located in the Microsoft Developers Network (MSDN) that comes with Visual Studio. There are two ways to access MSDN. The first is to choose Contents from the Help menu; this will open a window in the top right of Visual Studio and display help. The second way to access MSDN is to select Start > Program Files > Microsoft Visual Studio .NET > Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Documentation. This will open the same documentation but in a help window separate from the Visual Studio .NET development environment.
There are two locations for help with Crystal Reports. If you have just Visual Studio .NET installed, Crystal Reports documentation is located in Visual Studio .NET > Developing with Visual Studio .NET > Designing Distributed Applications> Crystal Reports. If you installed Crystal Reports 9 on the same computer as Visual Studio .NET, the documentation will be located in the section already mentioned. Crystal Reports 9 also installs a top-level Crystal Reports 9 documentation in the root of MSDN. Both help files contain similar information, but the second, the Crystal Reports 9 documentation, is more up-to-date because the help files have been updated since Visual Studio .NET was released. Figure B.1 displays both help files. The version installed with Crystal Report 9 is selected, the version installed with Visual Studio .NET is displayed in the expanded tree.
