Congratulations! You just created a wonderful report in the previous chapter. But now you need to get that report to your end user before you are finished. In this chapter, we take all your hard work in creating a Crystal Report and look at options for delivering the report to the end user.
You will need to choose how best to deploy the report, because depending on the choices you make, the end user will be able to either review the latest information from the database, view the report offline, or use a web browser to view the report. With the last option, the user will require only a web browser and you will not need to install any software on the user’s computer. You need to answer the following question to make this decision.
Business Question: I have users who need the latest information, users who need to view the report offline, and users who want to view the report from a web page. How can I satisfy all these needs with Crystal Reports?
In this chapter, you will learn how to:
Choose a report-deployment technique
Deploy a Crystal Report with and without data
Export your report to various formats
Export your report to HTML and a web server
Compile your Crystal Report
Install a compiled report on your user’s computer
