Summary

Summary

Almost all Web languages can be attacked, so the first step in comprehending potential attacks is to understand the languages themselves: what they look like and how they work. Obviously, gaining a full understanding of all, or even some, of the Web languages from reading only one chapter in a book isn't possible. However, if you read the chapter closely, you should gain an understanding of the nature of each of the major languages discussed. In addition, you should be able to identify and categorize the languages when you come across them in your security assessment work.

We have touched on the potential security risks of some of the languages. We identify and describe additional security flaws and countermeasures that can be taken to avoid or correct them in the chapters ahead.
