Summary

Remember that DNS is nothing more than a naming system and protocol used not only by companies worldwide in their internal networks, but also for the publicly accessible Internet. DNS is used to add a human quality to finding data on the network www.novell.com or 130.57.4.27 as mentioned earlier. However, www.novell.com is much easier to remember than a set of numbers. You can move Domain Names around easily, but IP addresses are not so portable.

There is much to know about DNS; like SUSE Linux, you can set up the system as a DNS client or a DNS server. YaST will help you configure both.
