What's New

Although Outlook 2003 might be the premiere client for Exchange Server 2003, a viable alternative is now available in Outlook Web Access (OWA), which offers a browser-based email client that is greatly improved over previous versions, bringing OWA functionality in line with functionality found in the full Outlook 2003 client.

To further improve the OWA experience, Outlook now has two separate user interfaces for current and older browsers, allowing administrators to deploy Exchange clients to a wide range of platforms and browsers.

With the growth of mobile and wireless users, Exchange Server 2003 builds on technology previously found in Mobile Information Server (MIS) to deliver information from Exchange to a variety of hand-held and wireless devices.

With many different access options, Exchange Server 2003 is accessible from just about any platform or device. This chapter looks at some of these new client options and improvements on technology found in Exchange 2000.
