With this release, configuring the servers and settings in your Exchange environment is easier, thanks to some familiar tools updated from previous releases and some innovative new tools and features introduced with this release.

There have been a few changes to Exchange Manager. As with the previous version, Exchange Manager is still the main tool used for configuring your Exchange environment, and Exchange 2000 administrators should feel right at home.

The Internet Connection Wizard has been updated from Exchange Server 5.5, making it easy to quickly configure an Exchange server for sending or receiving Internet mail. The wizard can guide you through creating all the connections, virtual servers, and configuration settings required to get your installation up and running quickly.

For combating the growing amount of unsolicited email, Exchange Server 2003 also has new filtering features that administrators can use to filter email messages based on lists of blocked senders. In addition to server-level filtering, you can configure inbound and outbound filters for precise control over the messages that pass through Exchange.
