About the Author

Dan Woods is CTO, editor, and founder of the Evolved Media Network, a firm that offers content creation, editorial, and publishing services to information technology, financial, electronic gaming, and biotechnology companies. In early 2006, Dan and Peter Thoeny started StructuredWikis.com, a firm created to help companies use Wikis in a corporate setting. As an author, Dan has written several books for developers and IT managers about Java technology, RFID, Enterprise Services Architecture, and open source. As a CTO, Dan has built technology for companies such as Time Inc. New Media and TheStreet.com.

Thomas Mattern is Solution Marketing Manager for Enterprise Services Architecture at SAP. Thomas has over 10 years experience in product marketing and management with a focus on distributed software architectures and enterprise application development. Prior to his current position, Thomas served as Product Marketing Manager in SAP's Global Marketing for mySAP Technology with a focus on SAP Web Application Server. Before joining SAP, Thomas was responsible for product marketing at In-Q-My Technologies, a Java application server company that was acquired by SAP. Earlier in his career, Thomas held consulting and technical account management positions at debis, Compuware, and Forté Software. Thomas is a frequent speaker and has written numerous articles about development tools, application servers, integration technology, web services, and service-oriented architecture. Thomas, who holds an engineering degree from University of Cologne, lives in Hoffenheim with his wife Suse and his two sons Elvis and Merlin.
