The Thumbnail View tool lets you see small pictures of your Journal notes in the file system, just like you can see thumbnails of image files in Windows XP. The Thumbnail View tool becomes a part of the Windows XP interface so that you can view Journal notes as thumbnails anywhere notes files exist. After you install the Thumbnail View tool, whenever you navigate to a folder that includes Windows Journal files and choose to view the contents of the folder in Thumbnail mode, you will see Journal files in a way similar to what's shown in Figure 13.16. To view folder contents in Thumbnail View mode, tap View, and then Thumbnails in My Computer or Windows Explorer. Figure 13.16.
