You can assign superscript or subscript notation to any text to make it appear above or below the regular line of text. Superscripting and subscripting are used often in mathematical and scientific equations.
Type the text that you want to superscript or subscript.
Select the text that you want to superscript or subscript.
Click Format.
Click Font.
The Font dialog box appears.
Click either the Superscript or Subscript option ( changes to ).

You can apply any of these formatting options to selected text.
Click OK.
The selected text appears superscripted or subscripted.
Click anywhere outside the selection to continue working.
