Create a New Menu


You can create a new menu that contains commands of your choice.

Creating a new menu can be useful when you have a group of commands that you use frequently.

  1. Click Tools.

  2. Click Customize.

    The Customize dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Commands tab.

  4. Click New Menu in the Categories list.

  5. From the Commands list, drag New Menu to the location on the menu bar where you want the new menu to appear.

  6. Right-click the new menu to display a submenu.

  7. Type a name for the menu here. Include an ampersand (&) before the letter you want to use to open the menu by pressing image from book and then the letter.

    You can add commands to the menu using the steps in the section “Add Commands to a Menu.”

What does the Begin a Group command on the submenu enable me to do?

You can add lines to menus to group commands together. For example, on the submenu, a group ends before the Name command and another group begins immediately after the Name command.

What should I do if I change my mind and do not want the menu I created?

You delete the menu using the steps in the section “Remove a Command from a Menu.”
