How can I add or change the letter I press on the keyboard to execute a menu command?

The hot key – the key you press to execute a menu command – is the underlined key on the menu.

  1. In the Customize dialog box, right-click the command.

  2. In the Name box, move the ampersand (&) so that it appears just before the letter you want to use as the hot key.

  3. Click Close.

    Word saves the change.
