Create a New Toolbar


You can create a new toolbar that contains buttons you use on a regular basis.

You can, for example, create your own version of the Standard toolbar and then display your version instead of the original Standard toolbar.

  1. Click Tools.

  2. Click Customize.

    The Customize dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Toolbars tab.

  4. Click New.

    The New Toolbar dialog box appears.

  5. Type a name for the toolbar.

  6. Click OK.

    You can customize the toolbar to meet your needs by adding buttons to it.

  7. When you finish adding buttons to the toolbar, click Close.

How can I hide the Standard toolbar and display my toolbar?

Before performing step 7, click the Toolbars tab and click the box beside Standard to deselect it (image from book changes to image from book

How can I make my toolbar appear where the Standard toolbar used to appear?

Drag your toolbar so that it appears just below the menu bar. Word will dock the toolbar automatically where the Standard toolbar used to appear.
