Chapter 8: Print Documents


Now that your document looks the way you want it to look, you are ready to distribute it. In this chapter, you learn how to preview and print documents, print envelopes, and print labels.

Preview a Document Before Printing

You can preview your document before printing it to look for layout errors and other possible formatting inconsistencies.

  1. Click File.

  2. Click Print Preview.

    Your document appears in the Print Preview window.

    image from book You can identify the page in your document using the Status bar.

  3. To view more than one page at a time, click the Multiple Pages icon (image from book) and drag the mouse pointer (image from book) across the number of pages you want to view.

  4. Click when the number of pages appears.

    Word displays the number of pages you selected.

    image from book You can click the One Page icon (image from book) to redisplay only one page.

  5. To magnify an area of a page, place image from book over the area (image from book changes to image from book).

  6. Click the area.

    Word magnifies the area.

  7. Click Close to close the Print Preview window.

You can magnify an area of a page only while viewing one page at a time. Click image from book to redisplay only one page, click image from book to find the page to view, and then complete steps 5 to 6. Print Documents

Can I edit my document while previewing it?

Magnify your document and then click the Magnifier icon (image from book). The image from book changes to image from book and you can edit.
