Throughout this book we have dissected many different games, some of which were multiplayer. When we work with multiplayer games, we use a socket server called ElectroServer, along with an ActionScript object called ElectroServerAS. In this appendix, we discuss what a socket server is, how one works, and how you can use one for your own games. More specifically, we talk about ElectroServer. We also discuss how to install ElectroServer on almost any computer, from a desktop model to a multiprocessor Sun server.
