The Check Point company has also not remained aloof from the development of standards in the field of information security in general, and intrusion detection in particular. In 1997, within the framework of the OPSEC technology (http://www.opsec.com) it developed the SAMP protocol (Suspicious Activity Monitoring Protocol), intended for integrating firewalls or VPN tools with intrusion detection systems. Implementation of this protocol provides the capability of issuing control commands transmitted from an intrusion detection system to the firewall in order to stop attacks or block suspicious traffic.
