/etc/phones

Back in the dark ages of the early 1980s, systems connected to each other via phone lines speaking UUCP (Unix-to-Unix Copy Protocol). This functionality still lingers in OpenBSD, much like your veriform appendix. While it is expected to work, its usefulness is greatly limited. See tip(1), remote(5), and phones(5) for details if you're interested in computer archeology.
