End User Recipe: Survey Offline

After the survey has been completed, users can still try to access it. In these situations, it's a good idea to offer users a message explaining the status of the survey. The Survey Offline page uses a generic static message for all surveys.

Step 1: Implement Survey Offline Design

As with the Survey Completed page, all you'll need is a heading and an area to hold the message. This page, however, is even simpler because it has no dynamic elements.

  1. Create a page for the Survey Manager recipe, either from a template or from the File > New dialog.

graphics/book.gif In the SurveyBuilder folder, locate the folder for your server model and open the survey_offline page there.

  2. In the Content area of your page, create a header for the page and a general area to hold the message.

graphics/book.gif From the Snippets panel, drag the Recipes > SurveyBuilder > Wireframes > Survey Offline Wireframe snippet into the Content editable region.

  3. In the general area, add a nested table to hold the offline survey message.

graphics/book.gif Place your cursor in the row below the words SURVEY OFFLINE and insert the Recipes > SurveyBuilder > ContentTables > Survey Offline - Content Table snippet [r5-24].

  4. Save the page.

Again, feel free to customize the message here. You might also provide a link to the survey coordinator or someone else the user could go to for more information.

Survey Builder is a full-featured application and your implementation should be tested thoroughly before deploying. Try creating sample surveys with mock questions using one or more of each type and then having your testers respond to the survey.
