Panther comes equipped with a new utility application called Font Book, which enables you to easily add and manage your collection of fonts. Because Mac OS X can recognize and use Windows TrueType fonts, you have a practically unlimited supply of commercial, freeware, and shareware fonts available — both online and at your local computer software store. Fonts that you add to your system through Font Book are automatically made available for your use throughout most of your applications.

Did You Know?

You can create new collections within Font Book that can help organize your fonts according to their theme. To do so, click the Add button, which bears a plus sign, and type the name; then drag fonts from the Font list and drop them into the new collection.
