Use the Go Menu

Think of Panther’s Go menu as a shortcut to all sorts of locations — both those on your local hard drives and those on external sources, such as your network or the Internet. The Go menu is a great one-stop solution to increasing your efficiency within Mac OS X.

Apple includes a number of the most commonly used locations as default choices on the Go menu, including your Home folder, iDisk, local network, and Applications folder. You can also use the Recent Folder submenu to quickly jump to folders that you have used in the recent past.

Did You Know?

If a Finder window is currently open, you can back up to the parent folder for your current location by pressing z+up arrow or by clicking the Go menu and choosing the Enclosing Folder menu item.
