As has been the case for years in the Mac OS, you can customize the icon of any file or folder in the Finder. Icons are a vital component of the graphical user interface. They help you quickly identify files and folders without having to read a filename. Many items on your hard drive have uniquely identifiable icons. To those that do not, however, you can assign a custom icon; this will continue to save you time far into the future.
