Ordering Prints

Aperture provides a built-in print ordering system that automatically uploads your images to a Kodak print service. This service prints your images using a chemical printing process, just like a regular film lab does.

To order prints, select the images that you want to print and then choose File > Order Prints. You may have to configure your account. Then select your options and order your prints.

Your images will be uploaded to the photo service computer, and you will receive your prints by regular mail. The length of time required for print delivery depends on your location.

A Word About Sharpening

When you apply sharpening in Aperture, you're applying sharpening to the full-res image. When you reduce the size of an image, apparent sharpness increases, so if you output an image using any kind of preset that reduces the size of your image, there's a chance that your image will appear too sharp. You may need to go back and lower your sharpening setting and then output the image again.

Similarly, if you use an output preset that enlarges your image, you may find that your current sharpness settings aren't aggressive enough.

Therefore, when outputting images at varying sizes, be prepared to check the final sharpness levels and readjust your sharpness settings if necessary. You may want to keep separate versions of your images for separate sizes, each with different sharpening parameters.
