Project leadership is different in several ways for international projects. First, there are additional pressures and constraints that are not as severe in single-location projects. Second, political and cultural factors have a major impact. Third, the visibility of the project to management is more pronounced than for regular projects. However, even with this the major qualities of project leaders remain much the same—the ability to identify and solve problems and the capability to communicate.
