>Customer Support

We always value hearing from our readers, and we want to know what you think about this book: what you liked , what you didn't like, and what you think we can do better next time. You can send us your comments, either by returning the reply card in the back of the book, or by sending an email to feedback@apress.com. Please be sure to mention the book title in your message.

>How to Download Sample Code for This Book

Visit the Apress site at http://www.apress.com and locate the title through our Find a Book facility. Open the book's detail page and click the Download Code link. Alternatively, click the DOWNLOAD CODE link at the top of the Apress homepage, and select the book in the text box there.

Before you download the code for this book, you may register the book by providing your name and current email address. This is a purely optional step that allows us to contact you should issues with the code download arise, or if we update the code- download package at a later date. Be assured that Apress will never pass any details supplied during registration to any third party. Full details are contained in our privacy policy, which you can reach from the download page.

Download files are archived in a zipped format, and need to be extracted with a decompression program such as WinZip or PKUnzip. The code is typically arranged with a suitable folder structure, so make sure that your decompression software is set to use folder names before extracting the files.

>Errata

We've made every effort to make sure that there are no errors in the text or in the code. However, no one is perfect and mistakes do occur. If you find an error in the book, such as a spelling mistake or a faulty piece of code, we would be very grateful to hear about it. By sending in errata, you may save another reader hours of frustration, and you will be helping us to provide ever-higher quality information. Simply email the problem to support@Apress.com, where your information will be checked and posted on the errata page for the title, or used in subsequent editions of the book.

To view errata on the website, go to http://www.apress.com and locate the title through the Find a Book search box. Clicking the View errata link that appears below the cover graphic on the book's detail page brings up a list of all the latest errata for the book.

>Email Support

>If you wish to query a problem in the book with an expert who knows the book in detail, send an email to support@apress.com. A typical email should include the following things:

  • The title of the book , the last four digits of the ISBN , and the page number of the problem in the Subject field

  • Your name , contact information , and the problem in the body of the message

We won't send you junk mail. We need the details to save your time and ours. When you send an email message, it will go through the following chain of support:

  • Customer support: Your message is delivered to our customer support staff. They have files on most frequently asked questions and will answer any general questions about the book or the website immediately.

  • Editorial: More complex queries will be forwarded to the technical editor responsible for the book. They have experience with the programming language or particular product, and will be able to answer detailed technical questions.

  • The authors: Finally, in the unlikely event that the editor cannot answer your problem, he or she will forward it to the author. We do try to protect our authors from distractions, but we're quite happy to forward specific requests to them. All Apress authors help with the support on their books. They will email you and the editor with a response.

The Apress support process can only offer support for issues that are directly pertinent to the content of the book. Support for questions that fall outside the scope of normal book support is provided via a community email list for the book. You can find a link to this list at http://www.lhotka.net.
