Environmental Effects

Volume lights: In Maya, you can easily set these lights by using the Light Effects entry in the Attribute Editor for Spot lights. Click the icon to the right of the Light Fog entry to apply a Light Fog effect to the light. You can also set up what the dust cone should look like.

Environment Fog: This effect is found in the Render Global Settings window, with an option to apply the fog in post effects.
