After you select the text for which you want to change the capitalization, open the Format menu and select Change Case to open the Change Case dialog box.
Select the desired case option (for example, lowercase) and click OK.
The selected text uses the case option you chose. (This figure shows an example of each case option.)
INTRODUCTION
Have you ever received a document you needed to work on, and the person who created the document PUT EVERYTHING IN ALL CAPITALS or typed header text in sentence format (only capitalizing the first word)? Instead of retyping all the text again or initial capping all the words in a sentence, you can have Word automatically change it for you. The case change options are Sentence case, lower case, UPPER CASE, Title Case, or tOGGLE cASE.
TIP
Using UPPERCASE
Be careful when using the Uppercase option in text. It can mean different things to different people. Some interpret it as screaming in the text, while others can find it distracting.
