INTRODUCTION
Word provides many ways to view documents, and each view has its purpose. The two most common views are Normal and Print Layout, but Reading Layout view is nice because it increases the size of the text so you can read it more easily onscreen. Normal view (Word's default view) shows text formatting in a simplified layout of the page so you can type and edit quickly.
TIP
Alternative View Buttons
Instead of using the View menu, you can also select the various views from the view buttons to the left of the horizontal scrollbar.

TIP
Print Layout View
If you are in Print Layout view, you can double-click the cursor at any point in the new document and Word will insert carriage returns and a tab before the new location. Begin adding text on the page wherever you like.
TIP
Using the Window Menu
The Window menu options let you switch between document windows. Select Arrange All to resize all open documents onscreen, and select Compare Side by Side to compare two documents at a time (you will be asked which documents to compare if you have more than two open). Select Split to place a split in the document so you can, for example, scroll down to information on page 45 and compare it with information on page 2.
