Press and hold down the left mouse button over the selected text; then drag the pointer to the new location.
Release the mouse button to drop the text in the new location.
INTRODUCTION
You can reorganize text in a Word document by moving items as you work. The method shown here is faster than cutting and pasting text. For example, if you are working on a report, you can use this technique to quickly play around with the order in which you present information.

Undoing Actions
If you accidentally release the mouse button before you place the insertion point at your desired location, click the Undo button to remove the inserted text. Then try the move operation again.
