Type some text. When you have entered enough text for one line, the cursor automatically wraps (moves) to the next line.
Press the Enter key a couple of times to insert new paragraphs.
Click once at the location where you want to insert new text.
Type the text you want to insert. Word slides over the existing text and inserts the new text.
INTRODUCTION
When you open Word, you can immediately begin entering text in a new default document called Document1. The insertion point, or cursor, "blinks" at the top of the document where the text you are typing will be displayed.

Paragraphs
You can split a paragraph by moving the cursor to where you want to divide the paragraph and pressing the Enter key.

Insert and Overtype
The Insert key toggles Insert mode and Overtype mode on and off (OVR displays in the Word status bar). When you type in Overtype mode, your typing replaces the current text.
