INTRODUCTION

Workbooks or worksheets with a lot of data can generate large print jobs, possibly containing hundreds of pages. Waiting until all these pages are printed to verify that the information is printed correctly can cost a lot in both time and printing supplies. To help prevent printing mistakes, use Print Preview to ensure that all the necessary elements appear on the pages being printed.

TIP

Using the Page Break Preview Button

Clicking the Page Break Preview button takes you from Normal view to Page Break Preview view, in which you can see exactly what is selected to print (in the print area). If you haven't set the print area, see the next task, "Setting the Print Area." If you are already in Page Break Preview view when you click the Print Preview button, the toolbar button will display Normal view instead, which shows your entire worksheet (regardless of whether you have set the print area).
